salt printzzz

Here are some of the images I will chose from for my salt prints. I am still trying to find which images look best together and show the feeling I want. Most of my images focus on different angles that create an abstract look... but some of them show a little more and focus on texture and lighting. I feel my images show the adventure I went on. and I can't wait to see them as salt prints!

Collaboration : Infrared

"IR photography opens up a new visual dimension for the photographer, a somewhat 'different' way of looking at the world around us. The spectrum of light is much wider than what the human eye can capture"

Sophia and I are working together for the collaboration project. We are thinking about printing on canvas. I want to experiment printing on something other than paper! We are thinking about doing the infrared process. We are looking into buying a lens and buying film to see what works better.

We aren't quite sure what we will photograph but I feel think will be the experimental part also. We will need to see what looks the best in this process and what we like. When searching images of this process, I saw a lot of trees and landscapes... I would like to push beyond that and do something a little different!!

Here are some of the images that really caught my eye:

the prints I used for my cyanotype and my final images!!

I had a tough time with this project at first. The results were unpredictable, and I seemed to get something different every time...but working through the process and getting my final images, was defiantly worth it! I love my end result.

I wanted to capture emotion in my portraits. I feel the blue tint to the images set an overall mood so I wanted to portray that same emotion/mood in the images.

For my images, I put layers over my portraits to create  water drops over the potraits. I took these pictures in a steamy bathroom and threw water on the window. I really liked the effect of these images and I wanted to incorporate them into my portraits. I felt they added to the emotion and mood of my images. They kind of have a dreamy and emotional effect!

Overall, I love this process and I had a fun time doing it!!
